Developing Multi-Fingered Hand for Dextrous Manipulation (PAPER)

Worcester Polytechnic Institute has recently published a great research paper I thought would be interesting to many of our members here. Their paper involves making a multi-fingered robotic hand for greater biomimicry and human-like precision completing dextrous tasks.


After completing a basic design, the paper goes through testing, programming, and control theory for the hand and ends with some demonstrations of a human operator controlling the hand using a glove inlaid with sensors. Even better, the hand design is open source and available for interested users.
