Fastening to Dynamixel XL330

Hello,

I am using the DYNAMIXEL XL330-M077-T. I see the screws used for the horns are the M2x6. The horn thickness is 3mm, hence, you must attach a 3mm thick piece of material to the horn in order to not screw through the horn. I thought this would apply to the frame holes as well. The fasteners for the side holes are M2x8. I was thinking that I would attach a 3mm thick piece of material, and the resulting 5mm would screw into the frame. However, I am now realizing that the ability to thread doesn’t start until around 6mm deep. Is this correct? Is anyone else getting this problem as well or know what the preferred thickness to attach to the XL33 frame is?

Thank you!

The threading depth for the side frames is actually slightly different depending on if it’s the front or the back. This section of the design PDF for the actuator shows the specific measurements for the depths and diameter of each portion.
