Chestnut-Picking Delta Mobile Robot

Hi there roboticists! Here again to share another great project I found on YouTube, this time from the channel stepbystep-robotics!

They’ve released some great videos about their robot project, a mobile robot that uses a delta-configuration manipulator + gripper along with computer vision/object detection to precisely detect and pick fallen chestnuts from the ground. I think this is a great example of using robotics to creatively solve an inconvenient task- chestnut harvesting is typically very labor-intensive because ripe chestnuts fall to the ground, making traditional harvesting techniques inefficient. With solutions like this chestnut-picker robot, we can use modern solutions to solve age-old challenges!
