I have eight XL330-M288-T connected in series.
The motor runs at 5V @ 1.5A each.
How much volt and ampere do I need to supply the motor?
Is it 40V @ 1.5A? (because it is in series?)
Or is it 5V @ 12A?
Or something else…
Oh please do not use 40 V on your XL330s, you’ll destroy them.
The current rating of 1.5 A is just for a temporary worse case scenario, for regular usage the XL330s do not use that much. I have used a Power Supply at 5V-3A for 8 XL-330s OK before. However, it is best to have no daisy chain of more than 4 DXLs for good control/power access to the “last/far” DXL on each of the daisy chains.
On the new OLLO TIG robot which has 8 XL-330s + RB-100 Controller, ROBOTIS uses a Lithium Battery rated at 3.7V and 1800 mAh, and TIG works fine with it.
BTW, which controller do you plan to use?
