Maximum velocity is being limited by PWM limit

Use the following template to help create your post:

  1. What model of servo are you using?
    XL430-W250-T

  2. Describe your control environment. This includes the controller or interface, and any power source.
I am using the OpenRB-150 board powered by a 12V, 5A power source.

  3. Specify the operating mode for applicable models, and any firmware settings you are using.
I am using the velocity operating mode

  4. Include pictures if possible.
    N/A

  5. Include a full description of the issue.
I am trying to run the servo at 120rev/min which would correspond to a goal velocity of 524 units. When the velocity reaches about 260 units (~60rev/min) the PWM signal is at its limit of 885 (100%).

Is it possible for the servo to go any faster? My knowledge is quite limited and I’m not sure where to go from here. The present voltage and load were 12V and ~2.4% when I ran into the issue.

The XL430-W250-T has a rated maximum unloaded output speed of about 62RPM at 12v.

If you need a higher maximum speed, you may want to consider the XL330-M077-T if your required torque is very low and you can use 6v power instead, as the unloaded RPM maxes out at about 456 at 6v.
