OpenRB-150 Overheating & XC330-T288 Not Responding

Issue:

I am trying to connect a single XC330-T288-T motor to the OpenRB-150 control board with a 12V power supply (at 0.3 A). I made sure that the jumper was set to VIN(DXL) when using the power supply.

The issue is that the board will not ping the motor both with the wizard 2.0 and the arduino ping (or scan dynamixel) code. Instead, I noticed the board was getting very hot to the touch, especially near the dynamixel ports where the resistors R21 and R20 reside. I have not done anything else to it and this is the second board that had the same exact issue.

Is there any way to resolve or diagnose this issue? Thank you.
