I am currently using six servo motors (XM430-W350-R) in a daisy chain via RS485.
I recently encountered a mysterious problem and would like to ask a question.
Each servo motor has been assigned an ID of 1 to 6, and is connected in the following order: 1⇒5⇒4⇒2⇒6⇒3.
Recently, the LED on motor with ID 1 went out, and the motor stopped working.
However, the LEDs on the subsequent motors were lit and they were operating normally.
After turning off the power and checking that there were no problems with the wiring, etc., I turned the power on again, and the LEDs lit up and the motors resumed operating normally.
The fact that the subsequent motors were operating normally suggests that signals and power were being supplied normally to the RS485 signal cable and power cable.
Do you have any idea what the cause may be?
Most likely there was some error condition happening to that one DXL. Next time when this situation happens do not reset power to preserve this error condition and use DXL Wizard to look for the error condition.
